Our Christmas card winner!!
Our tradition is to take a family photo every year and use it as our Christmas card. We usually send out around 80-100 but this year I think we bought 125! I know it sounds crazy but we know that remembering friends near and far is a joy for us at Christmas time. We also let Harrison and Ava address envelopes for all their classmates at school and then they passed them out. This year our photo shoot took place at the beautiful Carnton Plantation home. One of my favorite historical sights in Franklin. There is a ton of rich history on the very ground we stood upon. It was a hot spot during the civil war and even has a graveyard too. The house was used as a hospital. If you take the tour of the home you can still see blood stains on the floor upstairs. Like I said.... a lot of true history! Sadly our photo shoot was cut short. After 15 minutes of taking pictures a not very friendly lady told us that there is a $50 photography fee! We had no idea and there were no signs posting such. We have been there many times before to take pictures with no trouble at all. So then she said we could just pay $25 since we were unaware of the fee... so we basically said no thank you... packed up our camera and left. Thankfully we got some great shots before we got turned away. AND we only used a tripod... so the kids did great! We bribed them with juice boxes! Whatever it takes!
