The Great-Grandparent Tour

My grandmother, Posey, and Mitch's grandfather, Papa Jack have both had surgery lately. Mitch and I had a talk one night and we both shared that we felt really led to pack up the kids and take them to visit all of their great-grandparents. They still have 4 great-grandmothers and 1 great-grandfather! What a blessing! So we quickly made the decision, loaded up the car and headed for Arkansas. Our first stop was with MeeMaw in Little Rock. The kids played the piano with her, played with Mitch's cousins, ate some of her famous rolls, and we even got to celebrate Gigi's birthday when she came to join us on Wednesday night at MeeMaw's house. After that we headed over to Cabot to visit with Mom Pat and Papa Jack. Mom Pat had toys waiting on them (giant Mickey and Minnie dolls) and she even took them to Walmart to pick out some new toys. Ava chose a Tinkerbell Fairy House and a cheerleading costume and Harrison got an Elmo toy that plays music and has a microphone. They live right next to some train tracks and the kids loved watching the trains. The kids picked pecans out of their yard and filled 2 buckets! After that we headed to Memphis to see my grandmothers, Posey and grandmommy. My mom and dad hosted lunch for us and invited the grandmothers to come over. We had a yummy lunch and had so much fun visiting with everyone. They both came with treats for the kids... do you think they are spoiled or what??? It was so sweet of them. We showed them the video Mitch made me for my birthday and it was fun to take a look at our family throughout the years. Later that afternoon we played cornhole with my family (Mitch made them a set for Christmas) and the kids loved jumping in their piles of leaves... since we have no leaves in our yard! It was the perfect end to a wonderful trip.
