We all had the best time at Dollywood a few weeks ago. Harrison rode the kiddie rides and Ava got to ride some that were a little bigger, like a Veggie Tales Roller Coaster. Both kiddos were fearless. GiGi got to come with us since she was in town for Ava's Birthday Party. We stayed in a hotel in Pigeon Forge with points I have accumulated from work. It was a five minute drive from Dollywood. The hotel was a Comfort Inn. It was really nice and spacious! I have stayed in a few Comfort Inns in my career and this was by far the nicest. It had a pool that we found a few minutes to enjoy, a breakfast in the morning, and large rooms. Harrison spent the whole time in the hotel trying to figure out everything. Both kids thought it was a big "treat." Rainer and I rode a few adult roller coasters: "the Mine" went literally straight up, a big fire explosion, then straight down, then many twists and loops. It was great! The lines in the whole park were non existent!! We maybe waited a total of 3 minutes for each ride, and sometimes they would let us just stay on and ride again. Thanks GiGi for all your help!! We are planning to go back in the fall when school is back in.
